Strategies[]
- The AUG is naturally good at producing large amounts of hit money due to it's high base fire rate coupled with fire rate upgrades, a magazine size upgrade, and it's Scattershot upgrade.
- Pairing it with perks like Deep Impact, Bullet Storm, will help produce hit money faster.
- Purposely not aiming for the head to get more hit money shots per zombie is a viable tactic when you are killing zombies faster than they can spawn.
- Greed mods and Penetration mods are common for this kind of build.
- The most popular yellow perk to pair with AUG is Money Marker due to the substantial amount of hit money.
- Absurdly advanced tactics involve utilizing Pacifist or even the Overweight debuff to reduce one's damage even further to allow a person to get even more hit money off zombies. It is not advised to do this strategy unless you are in a position to safely do so.
- Damage builds are also extremely popular as the AUG has great stats and minor detractors. Great DPS, low recoil, high accuracy, far range, and a x2.5 scope vastly outshine the minor detractors of mediocre reload speed and below-average ammo efficiency. Simply being able to slightly adjust your perk build to switch from a money build to a damage build with ease is one of the defining qualities of the AUG, as most of the perks used in either build are commonly used perks across a variety of weapons.
- Common perks for a damage build of the AUG include Stopping Power, Bulletstorm, Glass Cannon, Marksman, Speedload, and Deep Mags.
- A unique strategy for switching between the money and damage build of the AUG is to have money builds during normal nights, and to utilize Shadow Supply for Boss nights where an extreme amount of DPS is usually required.
- The AUG's hip-fire accuracy and recoil is far more manageable compared to other weapons of it's caliber, allowing it to easily deal with surprise wraiths with impromptu hip-fire.

- The scattershot upgrade is the same one used for the Minigun, but in this case it effectively doubles the damage of the AUG.
- The AUG bolsters the highest base headshot multiplier of the Assault Rifles at an impressive x2.5, better than some lower end Rifles
- The AUG's recoil is very low, resulting in it being easy to hit targets with minimal recoil and great accuracy.
- Be careful when using Bullet Storm and Experimental Drink together with this weapon. The increased firerate will result in far more recoil than expected.
- At one point, AUG once held the title of being the #1 gun in the game, due to having all the benefits with almost zero flaws. The best money making build, the best DPS builds, and the versatility to switch between the two when needed. This is due to Patch 5.3.5, where a bug fix occurred to fix dead zombies blocking bullets, which was a common issue with the extreme fire rate of the AUG. This allowed it to rise to the top of the meta, eventually being a pivotal piece of the strategy required to beat Impossible difficulty for the first time ever since Patch 5.0 was released.
